Privacy policy
We collect the least we can: your email to sign you in, the transcripts you unlock so you can reopen them, and what a payment needs. We never sell your data and there are no ads.
Who we are
Transcript Any Video (transcriptanyvideo.com) is run by Paul-Victor Henry, an individual based in Marseille, France. For any question about your data, write to nocode.paulvictor@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Your email address, when you sign in. We send it a one-time code and a sign-in link (valid 15 minutes). It identifies your account and your credit balance.
- A session cookie (tav_s), so you stay signed in for 30 days. It holds a random identifier, nothing else.
- The transcripts you unlock or transcribe: the YouTube video ID, its title, channel, duration and the transcript text, saved to your account so you can reopen them without paying twice.
- Payment details: payments are handled by Whop. We never see your card. We receive the payment ID, the pack you bought and the name on the billing address, which we use to thank you by your first name.
- Bug reports and reviews you choose to send, with the email you give us if you want a reply.
- Anonymous visit statistics through Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.
The Chrome extension
The extension only runs on YouTube video pages and on transcriptanyvideo.com. On a YouTube page it reads the video you are watching (its ID, title, length and captions) to show the transcript next to it. It does not read your browsing history, other tabs or other websites.
It sends data to transcriptanyvideo.com only when you act: when you sign in (your email and the code), when you unlock a transcript (the video details and its captions), or when you buy credits. It keeps one setting on your computer, whether the panel is folded, using Chrome's storage.
The use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel hosts the site and its servers.
- MongoDB Atlas stores accounts, credits and saved transcripts.
- Mailgun (EU region) sends the sign-in emails.
- Whop processes payments.
- Groq turns audio into text when a video has no captions. The audio is sent for transcription only.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. They process data only to deliver their service to us.
How long we keep it
Sign-in codes are erased after 45 minutes and sessions after 30 days. Your account, credits and saved transcripts stay as long as your account exists. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time, by email to nocode.paulvictor@gmail.com. Deleting your account removes your email, credits and saved transcripts. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
